A Trail That Hits Different Right Now
From a Neighbor: Trail Pick of the Week
If you’re looking for a beautiful local hike, check out the Bonneville Shoreline North Trail. Park at the base of the Divide and hike north toward the areas affected by last fall’s fires.
With all the burned trees, it’s stunning, quiet, and a little eerie in the best way — a powerful reminder of both loss and resilience… and it doesn’t smell like smoke anymore.
If you need a mental reset, fresh air, or just something that feels real, this one’s worth your time.

Quick Hits
On the Local Pulse
Cherry Days Planning: North Ogden’s famous Cherry Days (July 2026) will be extra special for America’s 250th and the city’s 90th year. City officials are already seeking volunteers and sponsors. If you want to help shape the parade or fireworks show, reach out to Parks & Rec now!
Emergency Alerts: Have you signed up for CodeRED alerts? Harrisville and North Ogden use CodeRED to send urgent notifications (like missing child alerts or boil-water notices). Sign up via your city’s website to get calls/texts for emergencies. Pleasant View uses the county’s Everbridge system – ensure you’re registered.
If you’ve been racking up points in the library’s Winter Reading Program, now’s the time to cash them in for some fun little prizes—just swing by your local branch to see what’s up.
Scam Alert: Several residents reported a utility bill scam call this week – someone pretending to be from Rocky Mountain Power threatening shutoff. Remember: hang up and call the utility directly if you’re unsure. Real companies don’t demand immediate payment via gift cards. Stay vigilant and share with elderly neighbors who may be targeted.
